A ship carrying deportees to the prisons of Cayenne, is wrecked during the voyage.

A few deportees and Lieutenant Claude de Ross land on a mysterious island, but one after the

other, but three of them including Claude, are victims of mysterious murders.

Tired and hungry, Claude and his two companions go in search of food, but they end up

captives of Edmond Rackham who lives in a colonial style mansion served and protected by the

natives and Haitian Shakira.

Shakira, who is a sorceress Vudu, has been commissioned by Edmond to control the charming

Amanda presented to Claude as the wife of Edmond and which is retained on the island with

her father Professor Marvin against her will.

Also the two Claude‘s companions are eliminated, as he is spared. He discovers that he owes

his salvation only to being a doctor. He should keep alive, by all means, Professor Marvin, who

is ill and segregated in a cellar. The biologist is forced to work for Edmond and has succeeded in creating human-fishes, kind of

genetic cross between man and fish, used in the recovery of the treasure of the temple of the

sun god of Atlantis, which is buried underground in the depths of the island .

Amanda and Claude sympathize. Claude is conducted in underground laboratories where he

can watch through a diving bell the fish-men bringing golden objects and furnishings to the

surface.

Unfortunately, like Shakira had prophesied long before, the dream of an empire that Edmond

had in mind to create is totally destroyed by a volcanic eruption, shortly thereafter.

Only Claude and Amanda are miraculously safe from the volcanic eruption with the unexpected

help of man-fish.

MUSIC CRITIC

The soundtrack of composer Luciano Michelini increases the pace of the film and supports it

with his undeniable talent and professionalism.

Maestro Luciano Michelini studied at Conservatory of Santa Cecilia with Armando Renzi for the

composition and the famous Franco Ferrara for the musical direction.

Between 1964 and 1982 the Maestro was pianist for the Italian RCA and the CAM.

During this period he began composing film scores and today his music is in more than 30 film

and in a series of RAI’s television productions.

Today, the composer teaches film music at the Pontifical Institute of Sacred Music. The musical style of Maestro Michelini has been compared to famous authors as Bacalov,

Nicolai and Morricone.

We hope that the creativity and the musical richness of this great master, until now

underestimated, have the recognition it deserves as soon as possible.

Pochi deportati e il tenente Claude De Ross, si salvano dal naufragio e approdano su di un'isola misteriosa, ma uno dopo l'altro tranne tre di loro, tra cui Claude, rimangono vittime di misteriosi assassini. Stanchi ed affamati, Claude e i suoi due compagni vanno alla ricerca di cibo, ma finiscono prigionieri di Edmond Rackham che vive in una villa di stile coloniale servito e protetto da indigeni e dalla haitiana Shakira. Shakira, che è una stregona Vudu, ha avuto l'incarico da Edmond, di controllare l'affascinante Amanda presentata a Claude come moglie di Edmond, la quale è trattenuta sull'isola suo malgrado assieme al padre il professor Marvin. Anche i due compagni di Claude vengono eliminati, mentre Claude viene risparmiato e scopre che deve la sua salvezza soltanto al fatto che essendo un medico, dovrà con ogni mezzo, tenere in vita anche se malato, il professor Marvin, che è tenuto segregato in una cantina. Il biologo scienziato, è stato costretto a lavorare per conto di Edmond ed è riuscito a creare degli uomini pesce, una sorta di incrocio genetico tra uomini e pesci, per utilizzarli nel recupero del tesoro del tempio del dio sole di Atlantide, che è sepolta negli abissi sotterranei dell'isola. Amanda e Claude simpatizzano. Claude viene condotto nei laboratori sotterranei da dove può osservare, attraverso una campana subacquea gli uomini- pesce che portano in superficie oggetti e arredi in oro. Ma purtroppo di lì a poco, a causa di un'eruzione vulcanica, come aveva profetizzato già molto tempo prima la stregona Shakira, il sogno di un impero che Edmond aveva in mente di crearsi, viene totalmente distrutto. Soltanto Claude e Amanda riescono miracolosamente a sopravvivere all'eruzione vulcanica e a salvarsi con l'aiuto insperato degli uomini-pesce. CRITICA MUSICALE La colonna sonora del compositore Luciano Michelini aumenta il ritmo del film e lo sostiene con la sua innegabile professionalità e bravura. Il M° Luciano Michelini ha studiato al conservatorio di Santa Cecilia con Armando Renzi per la composizione e il famoso Franco Ferrara per la direzione musicale. Tra il 1964 e il 1982 il Maestro è stato pianista per la RCA Italiana e per la CAM. Durante questo periodo cominciò a comporre colonne sonore e oggi la sua musica è in oltre 30 film e in una serie di produzioni televisive della RAI. Il compositore oggi insegna musica da film presso il Pontificio Istituto di musica sacra. Lo stile musicale del M° Michelini è stato comparato ad autori famosi come Bacalov, Nicolai e Morricone. Speriamo che la creatività e la ricchezza musicale di questo grande Maestro, fino ad oggi sottovalutato, abbia quanto prima il riconoscimento che merita.
