In 1978, RAI broadcast the full series. The same thing happened in the U.S., Germany,  Australia, China and other networks of national importance. The series was distributed in  schools, in 35mm and 16mm. In 1983 the publication of 16 volumes re-proposed the  series of films. The footage of the series "ITALY VIEW FROM THE SKY" obtained many  awards and was bestowed with considerable success by the great public interest.  To make the soundtrack of the movie SARDINIA, made in 1972, the great Maestro Ennio  Morricone was chosen. Through his innate and unique artistic sensibility, he composed  songs that reflect fully the mysterious and fascinating island.  AN ORGAN IN THE WIND.  Very often, to realize a musical idea, the composers’ sensitive attention is drawn to certain  details that escape most people, perhaps because of distraction or carelessness. In the  title of this song we can find something that is a common denominator on the island of  Sardinia: the wind.  Those who know Sardinia also know that this is a constant element, indispensable and  integral in all its territory. Making this composition, Ennio Morricone has emphasized this feature of the island  without the assistance of pre-recorded sound effects, replacing the musical wind with a  chorus of male and female.  The song begins with an organ, it imitates a Bach touch type, but at the same time, with  the deep notes of the chorus, the main feature of the entire composition makes its way:  the wind ensemble.  The two elements: the wind and the organ, seem to dance independently of each other,  but this is only an impression as they are strongly interdependent. The result? A deep and  powerful portrait of the rough landscape of Sardinia.  Another feature of this wonderful and natural island are its cork forests near the sea.  These forests stretch as far as the eye and it is strange to note that if we carefully  examine the surroundings there is no sign of human life. These fascinating and disturbing  places bring us back to the beginnings, to a wonderful old age, to the very birth of the  world.  The song titled "Between the forest and the sea" describes in a masterly way that state of  mind. The desolation we feel at the beginning becomes a dance of birds and immediately  after a solo harp accompanies a female voice that is heard in the distance. And all this  happens in a surreal dream. The song called "Sardinia" is very simple and linear, but its  clarity, serenity and dignity reflects the strong character, frank and confidential, that  characterizes the Sardinian people.  In " Mysterious Signs " the composer pointed out the history, traditions and the mysterious Nuraghe of Sardinia. In this patient, painstaking work of musical construction, the extreme  sensitivity of Maestro Morricone dealt with a much deeper musical speech than a simple  description of a folk environment, he has built a musical discourse that goes beyond the  simple soundtrack: he dived in the reality of the feelings of an entire people that dream,  live and work in a major Italian region.  Il filmato "SARDEGNA" prodotto nel 1972, fa parte dei 14 documentari finanziati e sponsorizzati dalla ESSO ITALIANA che avevano come obiettivo quello  di portare a conoscenza del grande pubblico internazionale, le bellezze paesaggistiche, architettoniche ed artistche del nostro meraviglioso e  ineguagliabile paese: l'ITALIA.  Nel 1978 la RAI trasmise la serie completa. Lo stesso avvenne negli U.S.A, in Germania, in Australia, in Cina e in altre reti di rilevanza nazionale. La serie  fu distribuita nelle scuole  nel formato 35mm e 16mm. Nel 1983 furono pubblicati anche 16 volumi che riproposero tutta la serie dei films. I filmati della  serie "L'ITALIA VISTA DAL CIELO" ottennero moltissimi premi e un notevole successo tributato dal grande interesse pubblico.  Per realizzare il commento musicale del filmato SARDEGNA prodotto nel 1972,   fu scelto il grande M° Ennio Morricone, il quale attraverso la sua innata  ed ineguagliabile sensibilità artistica, compose dei brani musicali che rispecchiano appieno la misteriosa ed affascinante isola.  UN ORGANO NEL VENTO  Molto spesso per realizzare un'idea musicale, la sensibile attenzione dei Maestri compositori, viene attratta da alcune peculiarità che sfuggono alla  maggioranza delle persone, vuoi per distrazione o vuoi per noncuranza. Nel titolo di questo brano si ravvisa cio che è un comune denominatore  dell'isola  sarda: il vento. Chi conosce la Sardegna, sa che questo elemento atmosferico è un elemento costante, imprescindibile e integrante in tutto il suo territorio.  Il Maestro Ennio Morricone realizzando questa composizione, ha sottolineato questa caratteristica dell'isola, senza servirsi dell'ausilio degli effetti sonori  già preregistrati ma  sostituendo  musicalmente il vento con un coro maschile e femminile. Il brano che inizia con un organo, imita una toccata di tipo  bachiano ma nel contempo, con le profonde note del coro si fa strada strada l'elemento caratterizzante di tutta la composizione: il vento corale. I due  elementi: il vento e l'organo, sembrano danzare indipendentemente l'uno dall'altro ma ciò è soltanto un'impressione in quanto l'uno è  fortemente  interdipendente dall'altro. Il risultato? Un profondo ritratto del  rude e forte paesaggio  della Sardegna.   Un'altra caratteristica di quest'isola meravigliosa e naturalistica sono le sue foreste di sughero in prossimità del mare.  Queste foreste si perdono a vista d'occhio ed è strano notare che se esaminiamo attentamente i dintorni non ci appare nessun segno di vita umana.  Questi luoghi affascinanti e inquietanti, ci riportano ai primordi, ad un'era antica e meravigliosa, alla nascita stessa del mondo. Il brano musicale dal titolo  “Tra la foresta ed il mare” descrive in modo magistrale questo stato d'animo. La desolazione che si avverte inizialmente si trasforma poi una danza di  uccellini e subito dopo un assolo d'arpa  accompagna una voce femminile che si sente in lontananza. E tutto questo avviene  in un'atmosfera di sogno irreale. Il brano denominato “Sardegna” è molto semplice, lineare ma di una chiarezza, una serenità e una dignità che ricalca  appieno il carattere forte, schietto e  riservato, fatto di poche essenziali parole, tutte qualità che caratterizzano il popolo sardo. In “Segni misteriosi” il  maestro ha sottolineato la storia, i costumi e i nuraghi misteriosi della Sardegna. In questo paziente, faticoso lavoro di costruzione musicale, l'estrema  sensibilità del M° Morricone ha affrontato un discorso melodico molto più profondo di una semplice descrizione folcloristica ambientale, ha costruito un  discorso musicale che va aldilà del semplice commento sonoro: si è immerso nella realtà dei sentimenti di un intero popolo che vive sogna e lavora, in  una importante regione italiana,.
